YOUNG MOTHERS RAISE OVER £5,500

Guilden Morden based charity ‘Wheels for Martin’s Friends’ entered a team in this year’s Cambridge Half Marathon and raised over £5,500.00.

The daughter of the chairman, Susie Lober, her husband and four young mothers, all from Ickleton are all keen runners and have been in training for some months. They all decided they would like to raise some money for a good cause and ‘Wheels for Martin’s Friends’ agreed to sponsor their entry. The target they set was £1,000.00 but through the generosity of friends and family they have raised to date £5,782.00 and the website is still open if you want to make a donation simply go to: http://www.peoplesfundraising.com/donation/cambridge-half-marathon.

The charity was founded in 1989 and raises funds to help disabled people in the Cambridge, Bedfordshire and Hertfordshire area with wheelchairs and special equipment to improve their lives. So far, the charity, which relies solely on volunteers to run it, has raised over £400,000.00 and further information can be gained from contacting their website www.wheesformartinsfriends.org.uk.
